Agniveers Granted Two-Year Service Extension by Cabinet Approval The Union Cabinet has approved a two-year extension for Agniveers, who were originally set to complete their service after four years. This decision, announced by Chief of Defence Staff General NS Raja Subramani in New Delhi, allows 75 percent of Agniveers to continue their engagement, with the option to enroll in the Armed Forces afterward. The first batch of Agniveers is nearing the end of their four-year tenure, and their performance evaluations have received positive feedback from the Army. The extension will also come with increased remuneration, reflecting the government's commitment to the Agnipath scheme introduced on June 14, 2022.
